Location

Kemah Tinggi is tucked away in Seseh, a quietly welcoming traditional fishing village a few kilometres north of Canggu.  Approached via a winding lane between palm and jackfruit trees, Seseh and its tiny neighbour Sogsogan are surrounded by lush green rice fields stretching back from a rugged black sand beach. Distant volcanoes emerge from the early morning haze whilst the villagers goes about their day to the chorus of cockerels and cheerful voices.

This villa is one of Bali's most seductive and serene private hideaways, and being away from the bustle has its advantages.  Our staff all live locally and will be delighted to offer guests privileged insights into Bali’s old culture, Hindu traditions and the local life which prevail in this delightful rural setting.  Here you will still see ducks herded, the morning’s catch landed, rice planted and harvested, and perhaps an elderly farmer in a conical hat teetering on a rusty bicycle, a scythe tucked in his waistband. Your stay may well also coincide with the many festivals in which villagers from miles around converge on Seseh’s important temple to perform cleansing ceremonies in traditional dress bearing intricate towers of fruit and flower offerings.

Although guests will no doubt find it hard to resist using our complementary chauffeured car to discover the shopping, dining and sights elsewhere on the island, there is nothing more enticing than returning to the oasis of Kemah Tinggi and its staff at the end of a long hot day. Enjoy a relaxing massage, a dip in the pool, or savour a cool drink as the sun sets, the candles begin to flicker and you contemplate the delicious dinner that lies ahead.  Relax - you're home.
